WATG is hiring a Senior Consultant in a hybrid role in one of our U.S. office locations.
ROLE
The Senior Consultant for the Americas will be an experienced member of the Advisory team, working with a wide range of clients to evaluate the market and economic feasibility of hotels, mixed-use resorts, and leisure destinations worldwide. The ideal candidate will be a highly numerate professional who is comfortable with quantitative data and analysis. The Senior Consultant will be responsible for delivering assignments, guiding junior staff, and liaising directly with clients. The Senior Consultant will report to the Director of Advisory Services, EMEA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaboratively plans and performs market research and data collection
Designs and supports engaging workshops with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders
Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to determine impact on the client's development opportunity
Uses interdisciplinary thinking and collaboration to ground all ideas in research insights
Manages day-to-day operations for projects, including staffing, fee tracking and forecasting, and client meetings
Guides Analysts and other team members on projects and shares experience, encourages original thinking and helps ensure alignment throughout the project
Collaborates with the Master Planning team on strategic planning efforts to help secure downstream design work
Assists architecture team with programming and feasibility for single asset sites
Is well-connected with representatives within the hospitality industry and well-placed to assist with operator search/selection mandates
Writes comprehensive and expert reports for various stakeholders
Produces financial modelling to appraise hotel and mixed-use developments
Possesses a broad understanding of geography, economics, and global affairs
Works closely with the Advisory Director and the team to ensure project success
Attends key conferences to network and explore new relationships and business opportunities
Helps strengthen and grow existing client relationships
QUALIFICATIONS
A professional degree in real estate, economics, tourism, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
A background in real estate/hotel development and/or consulting
Highly numerate and competent with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet modelling
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Critical and creative thinker
Clear communicator and presenter of ideas, findings and/or points of view
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work in a team environment under pressure
Well-travelled with a broad understanding of geography, economics and global affairs
Excellent organizational skills and coordination of project administration and internal corporate support
A passion for leisure and tourism and a solid understanding of the hospitality sector
