Our client is a nonprofit organization in Dallas seeking a passionate Chief Administrative Officer to join their team. The CAO will report directly to the CEO and will oversee the organization's day-to-day administrative effectiveness. This proven leader will act as the head of the finance, marketing, human resources, and IT departments, and will execute strategies to deliver results. The focus of this role will be to further advance the organization's overall performance by reviewing process improvement, developing new policies, overseeing key project initiatives, while enhancing the organization's reach and impact. The ideal CAO will drive this organization into the future keeping the young learners coming from marginalized communities as the north star.

Position Summary:

The Chief Administrative Officer will:

  • Partner closely with CEO as confidant and partner to ensure alignment to the vision, mission and strategic plan

  • Be a compassionate leader, who is results oriented, who is capable of overseeing day-to-day administrative activities

  • Foster a collaborative leadership environment to promote out-of-the-box thinking which will accelerate growth and efficiencies for the organization

  • Establish and monitor KPIs for the organization's departments and management based on best practices

  • Develop the leadership team with succession planning strategy

  • Attend regular meetings with the CEO and board of directors offering authentic leadership to move the organization to the next level

  • Collaborate with senior management and department heads to achieve positive outcomes and navigate any roadblocks for the organization
  • Facilitate strategic planning working overcoming any challenges or obstacles

  • Review and recommend process improvements

  • Foster a healthy and inclusive work environment

  • Flexibility---ability to wear several hats and multi-task to drive results

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • A well-developed sense of the student population to be served, built from a broad consideration of internal and external stakeholder input

  • Minimum 10 years of extensive administrative and senior leadership experience

Advanced knowledge of fiscal planning, reporting, and budgeting

  • Proven experience as proven leader in the areas of finance, marketing, human resources, and/or IT is a strong plus

  • Proven experience working with board of directors

  • Proven multi-year experience with portfolio of leadership accomplishments

  • Strong understanding of advancements in non-profit, education, and organizational development

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer skills and ability to keep up with everchanging non-profit dynamics

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform business decisions

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Performs additional duties as assigned
