A great UHY client is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their CPA and strong technical accounting experience.
The Manager of Technical Accounting role is a hybrid position, with 3 days each week being in the office. This is a client direct hire position.
Manager of Technical Accounting Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret complex accounting standards under US GAAP and provide guidance on their application.
Review non-standard contracts and conclude on appropriate accounting treatment.
Ability to understand complex equity structures and familiarity with stock compensation.
Prepare technical accounting position papers and memos for management and external auditors.
Review financial statements and footnotes for compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations, purchasing, commercial finance) to assess the accounting implications of new transactions, contracts, and business initiatives.
Provide training and support to finance staff on technical accounting matters.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting issues and financial statement audits.
Coordinate the preparation of schedules and documentation needed for audit processes.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance internal controls.
Develop and maintain technical accounting policies and procedures.
Manager of Technical Accounting Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
CPA required
5-7 years of experience in public accounting and/or external financial reporting for a public company
Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage and develop others
Capable of leading large complex projects
Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively communicate with foreign operations
