Director of Development for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded 20 years ago, serving all the SF bay counties. The nonprofit believes in the transformative power of education to work to empower students to achieve life goals.
Main responsibilities include cultivation of funding opportunities to increase engagement of current supporters and attract new supporters; development and implementation of effective, relevant fundraising infrastructure for the organization. The Director of Development
drives strategic efforts to build a culture of philanthropy throughout the staff, students, alumni, board, directors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
? Provide strategic and operational direction to the design, delivery, and measurement of fundraising strategies and activities through the following revenue channels: individual contributions, grants and foundations, corporate giving, and other relevant and feasible philanthropic means.
? Set growth revenue goals and forecast fundraising for each fiscal year by examining historical trends, current and potential opportunities, and predicted outcomes of new and existing strategies.
? Support and supervise all development staff, project managers, and contractors involved to ensure aligned effort and nurtured growth.
Related Experience/Requirements:
? Leadership experience in nonprofit fund development required..
? A college degree in fund development, communications, or related field is required.
? A minimum of 5 years of leadership and management experience; demonstrated success in staff leadership, development, and retention.
? Strong strategic thinking skills with an ability to articulate a clear, compelling vision using data to inform decisions, including external research and internal innovation.
? A strengths-based perspective and strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are required.
