A machine tool design engineer will engage in base design and customizing the machine tools we shipped from factory to meet the customer specification.
Under direct supervision, incumbent will design, layout, test, and evaluation mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems.

Responsibilities include up to and not limited to:
Performing product development activities including definition, interpretation and implementation of design specifications and documentation requirements
Specifying bill of materials for machines, communicate with suppliers, and order parts as necessary
Designing, modeling, and drafting parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software and best practices.
Designing assembly jigs, fixtures, and tooling for machine tool production plant
Preparing and presenting in regular design reviews with team members and management staff to ensure a high-quality design
Completing high quality 2D drawings for designed parts and releasing them for manufacturing in a timely manner
Traveling when required to check customer machines, support abroad factory machine production, and attend design reviews/conferences
Ability to effectively communicate at varying technical levels to internal staff, customers, and suppliers
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
Proven experience communicating professionally with internal and external customers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Proven organizational skills with a high attention to detail

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and at least two (2) year experience in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of fundamental manufacturing and Mechanical design
Ability to design, model and draft parts and assemblies using 3D CAD & PDM software (PTC Creo, Windchill preferred)
Knowledge of machine tools (structure, operation, etc.) is a plus
Hands-on work experience with various mechanical systems is a plus.
