SUMMARY
As an Assurance Senior Manager, you will work with other members of our assurance practice to develop and sustain excellent client relationships. RKE's assurance practice delivers quality audits and other services to privately-owned middle-market companies. RKE services entities in a variety of industry verticals including manufacturers, distributors, professional service organizations, retailers, and software providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assurance Senior Manager is responsible for providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the auditing of all required financial statements, related disclosures and other client deliverables.
Review and supervise assurance engagement team work on client engagements to ensure firm's quality control procedures are followed.
Collaborate with Partners in the areas of risk assessment, audit programs, internal audit reports and budgeting.
Monitor and assess the skill sets and capabilities of the assurance team, providing ongoing feedback and articulating areas for improvement.
Advise clients on economic and regulatory risks, resolving complex accounting issues with a deep understanding of GAAP, including drafting technical memos and consultation papers.
Act as a technical resource for the team, explaining complex topics and providing training to staff.
Keep Partners informed of engagement progress, proactively addressing technical, scheduling, or other issues and recommending solutions.
Provide leadership, training, recognition, and administrative guidance to motivate and develop team members.
Manage engagement profitability, including client billing and budget oversight.
Support firm management in decisions regarding policies and procedures, fostering team alignment with these decisions.
Accept additional administrative and supervisory responsibilities, including recruitment efforts and leading professional development initiatives.
Stay current on technical and regulatory developments impacting the assurance practice.
Assist with any other tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
8+ years of progressive experience in a public accounting firm.
Minimum of 5 years of supervising and training experience
CPA certification required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel).
Experience with QuickBooks and ProSystems is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Strong motivation to meet client deadlines while delivering exceptional service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
Proven expertise in people development and delegation, including training, engagement scheduling, and budgeting.
Willingness and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
Executive presence, with the ability to serve as the primary client contact and to prepare and deliver presentations to clients and prospective clients.
Strong creative problem-solving and research skills, with sound decision-making abilities.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with business development and marketing initiatives is a plus.
