Job Description:

Title: IT Financial Analyst

Contract duration: 15 months (thru Jan 2026)

Location: Houston, TX (onsite 4 days/week)

Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will support a high-profile project by managing and tracking expenses, handling invoices, and producing critical financial reports. This role requires strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint for financial reporting, as well as knowledge in ERP systems (like PeopleSoft) and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will have experience with contracts & vendor management. Strong organizational skills and proactive communication are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Tracking & Reporting:
  • Manage and track project expenses, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely payments.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports using Excel to support project updates and decision-making.
  • Conduct financial reporting for submission to steering committees every two weeks, with a focus on accuracy and transparency.
  • Invoicing and Budget Management:
  • Handle invoice processing, ensuring timely payments to vendors and resolution of any payment issues.
  • Monitor trends in spending, identify variances, and recommend adjustments to maintain project budget alignment.
  • Support project forecasting and budgeting, ensuring all funds are allocated appropriately.
  • Vendor and Contract Management:
  • Ensuring contracts are reviewed and executed in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with SOWs, PSAs, and other contractual documents to facilitate vendor relationships.
  • Process Improvement & Communication:
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with internal teams to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Develop and implement organizational strategies to streamline expense tracking, invoice processing, and reporting.
  • Provide proactive updates on project finances and expenses to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, and budgeting within large projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, graphs) and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge working in ERP systems.
  • Other Skills:
  • Strong contract review experience and familiarity with project management and vendor integration processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with proactive communication and a focus on visibility across project financials.
