Petroplan's client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Field Quality Technician with a strong background in painting and paint repairs to join our LNG operations team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance during field operations. This position involves overseeing quality checks specific to painting applications, assisting with the identification and management of relevant quality documents, and documenting any defects or issues found in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Painting Quality Checks: Perform and sign off on quality inspections and tests of paint applications during field operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE).
Document Management: Collaborate with planners to identify and gather necessary quality documents related to painting and paint repairs for the planning and execution of fieldwork, including specifications, safety data sheets (SDS), and inspection reports.
Defect Reporting: Identify, document, and report any defects or non-conformities discovered in paint applications during inspections. Ensure effective communication of issues and facilitate prompt resolution.
Inspection Protocols: Follow established inspection protocols and standards specific to painting and paint repairs to maintain consistency and reliability in quality assessments.
Compliance: Ensure all painting work complies with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards specific to LNG operations, including adherence to VOC regulations.
Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements based on observations during painting inspections and defect analyses.
Coordination: Work closely with engineering, operations, and safety teams to resolve painting quality-related issues and support operational efficiency.
Required Skills:
Experience: Proven experience in quality inspection or painting and paint repair, preferably within the LNG or energy sector.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of painting quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and relevant industry standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE).
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and coordination with team members.
