Position Summary:
The Partner will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments, as well as fostering relationships within the consumer ecosystem. This individual will work closely with the firm's leadership and portfolio companies to ensure sustainable growth and maximize returns. As a senior member of the team, the Partner will also mentor junior staff and actively shape the firm's strategy and investment thesis in the consumer space.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Sourcing and Evaluation:
Identify and source high-potential investment opportunities within the consumer sector.
Conduct in-depth market research and due diligence to evaluate prospective investments.
Build and maintain a network of entrepreneurs, founders, and industry leaders.
Portfolio Management:
Collaborate closely with portfolio companies to drive growth and strategic development.
Offer operational support, financial guidance, and industry insights to optimize portfolio performance.
Regularly assess portfolio progress and provide recommendations to enhance scalability and profitability.
Firm Strategy and Leadership:
Contribute to the development and refinement of the firm's investment thesis and strategic focus within the consumer sector.
Serve as a mentor and leader to junior investment professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and in the Miami startup and venture capital ecosystem.
Fundraising and Investor Relations:
Assist with investor relations, communicating the firm's investment performance and opportunities to LPs.
Support fundraising activities by identifying potential investors and contributing to capital-raising efforts.
Key Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or a related field, with a focus on consumer investments.
Proven track record of sourcing and closing successful investments in the consumer sector.
Extensive network within the consumer products, services, or technology industries.
Strong analytical, financial, and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team, with a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent communication skills and experience in LP relations is a plus.
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
