We are looking to hire a Sr.Cloud Platform Engineer Charlotte, NC
Our challenge
The individual will be responsible for designing and engineering Cloud Data platforms . The individual will require to ensure high level of customer satisfaction for all Business users of the Data Lake platform. The role designs Data Platform systems that are appropriate for applications, customer needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for the solution engineering and design, provisioning, delivery, service management, continuous automations of the organization's Data Platform systems.
The Role
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver data platform and data engineering solutions to ingest and provision develop automation pipelines to ingest or provision data to or from Cloud platforms.
Design, develop and deliver cloud Data Platform solutions and develop/manage automation pipelines to handle Data Platform needs. Practice Infrastructure as code (IaC) to develop automation routines and integration flows to manage state of the Data Lake platform systems
Platform Engineering:
Facilitate setup of Data Lake platform and enable the platform with required security controls including encryption, masking, certificate/keys rotation etc.
Collaborates with developers, analysts, various system administrators to identify system requirements in designing efficient Data Platform solutions and interfaces.
Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications, and consequences of various proposed system changes.
Reviews technical documentation to guide platform users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system. Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of Platform operations and troubleshooting problems.
Deploy, automate, maintain, and manage AWS cloud-based systems across SDLC environments, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of the Data Lake Platform.
Manage the governance framework for DB-Services specific to private, hybrid and public cloud platform adhering to standards and integration with existing tools.
Data Engineering:
Provide expert level IT technical lead services, including the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, and integration of new and existing technologies and tools in a cloud platform.
Responsible for development of cloud integrations and data migrations to support operations of Cloud infrastructure, provisioning, monitoring with IaaS and PaaS models
Partner with Developers, various system administrators to ensure effective implementation of the data pipelines according to the business needs
Collaborates with Business Analysts and Product Managers to identify business requirements in designing efficient data pipelines and interfaces.
Implement version management and deployment of data pipelines using Nuveen approved CI/CD methodologies.
Participate in all recurring operations meetings to ensure platform related program governance activities are managed effectively.
Self-sufficiently lead the team members in ensuring the platform related engineering activities are handled effectively.
Align and collaborate with other team lead to ensure activities are handled across different time zones.
Perform Platform and Data Engineering L3 support
Requirements:
You are:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
Manage and ensure delivery of project tasks as required
Excellent documentation skills to create and manage design, implementation and automation related documentation
Platform engineering and Implementation experience for large scale data solutions with Orchestration, Computation and storage layers leveraging Hadoop distribution platforms like Cloudera or AWS EMR, Airflow, S3 etc.
Extensive experience in designing, engineering and managing data lake ingestion, validation, transformation and consumption services leveraging cloud data tools like Spark, EMR, Glue ETL and Catalog, Snowflake, AWS Services etc.
Experience on implementing solutions with Workflow orchestration/scheduling tools such as Airflow, Autosys etc.
Experience building and using CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure implementations with Terraform, Gitlab etc.
Must have ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks for self
Must have experience working in agile environment with multiple priorities
Self-reliant and Collaborative in handling activities necessary for Platform Engineering Stream
It would be great if you also had:
8+ years of implementing data applications or data platforms with Big Data/Hadoop, Python/Java/Spark full stack, etc.
8+ years of experience with ETL/ELT tools such as AWS Glue ETL etc.
5+ year support experience of Big Data technologies in Hadoop ecosystem -, MapReduce, Spark, Yarn, Kafka, Pig, HBase, Sqoop, Elastic Search, Kerberos
5+ year experience with Orchestration tools such as Airflow, Autosys etc.
Experience with Jira and Agile methodology is a plus.
Experience with understanding DevOps or CI/CD process w.r.t to infrastructure management activities
