Our Client, The Luxembourg American Museum, is seeking an Executive Director to lead their organization. This role requires a dynamic individual who can manage all aspects of museum operations, from financial oversight and strategic planning to community engagement and event organization. The Executive Director will play a crucial role in developing the museum's future, including the creation of a foundation to expand the endowment.
Duties:
Provide leadership and management for staff and volunteers
Oversee all business operations and financial management, including a $600K budget
Develop and implement long-term growth strategies in collaboration with the Board of Directors
Organize and execute museum events, including Luxembourg Fest and international trips
Engage with the community, building relationships with members, donors, and stakeholders
Lead fundraising efforts and work towards creating a foundation
Manage museum programs and exhibitions in concert with the Curator
Qualifications:
People Management and Leadership: Proven experience in leading and motivating teams, including volunteers and staff. The ability to foster a positive work environment and delegate effectively. Strong multi-tasking skills are critical to keep all facets of the museum running well.
Financial Acumen, Business Operations and Strategic Planning: Proven track record of oversight of all business operations within a non-profit setting. The ability to design and manage a $600K budget, oversee fundraising efforts, and develop long-term strategies for growth in concert with the Board of Directors, with a focus on foundation creation to expand the endowment.
Program Management and Event Planning: The ability to organize and execute various museum events in concert with the Curator. Strong organizational event planning skills to successfully execute Luxembourg Fest and the summer/winter trips to the Luxembourg area.
Community Engagement and Partnerships: The ability to build strong relationships with museum membership, community members, volunteers, and donors. A passion for the museum's mission and a commitment to serving all stakeholders.
Adaptability and Cross-Cultural Understanding: Given the museum's international focus and involvement with Luxembourg, the Executive Director should be comfortable working in a multicultural environment and be aware and adaptable to different customs and practices.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Museum Studies, Arts, History, Non-Profit leadership, or related industry.
Additional Information:
Compensation: $90,000 +/-
