Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES :Plan, manage, and coordinate multiple public and private construction projects
Responsible for the conceptual development of a construction project, overseeing it's organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation
Develop the best methods of construction to ensure the crew has the support, equipment, safety, and material they need to produce a profitable project
Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
PRECONSTRUCTIONReview and become familiar with project specifications and plans prior to pre-construction meeting
Review initial budget with estimator, ensuring it has been correctly transferred to HeavyJob
Prepare project schedule, review with superintendents
Coordinate pre-construction meeting, sourcing all important contacts
CONSTRUCTIONCoordinate subcontractor mobilizations in communication with superintendent
Coordinate material deliveries in communication with superintendent
Ensure HeavyJobs and HeavyBid are accurately utilized to track project efficacy, duration, and budget
Review time cards (weekly)
Perform monthly cost projections in coordination with ownership
Promptly notify ownership and client if there are delays, whether personnel, weather, or material related
Track and submit change orders
PROJECT CLOSE OUTPrepare project exit strategy and communicate with superintendent and operations manager to ensure project is 100% complete when we mobilize out
Ensure close out documents are submitted to the owner, general contractor, city, state, or municipality
Prepare post job review for management
QUALIFICATIONS :Strong knowledge of construction standards, specifications, and best practices
Estimating experience is preferred, but not required
Strong leadership skills with a proven record as a project manager in heavy civil construction
- Degree or working experience in engineering or construction management
