SUMMARY

The focus of this position is to lead the Product Support and Applications Developments efforts within the US R&D organization. The incumbent will oversee the execution of technical support activities, develop and provide technical oversight to customer facing activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical product support to customers and plants; assist in solving technical issues.
• Promote our new products, propose customized designs to answer customer needs.
• Manage our legacy product range.
• Train LISI employees in the application, use, and technical merits of our products.
• Represent LISI at industry & governmental committees and assist customers in coordinating their fasteners standards.
• Coordinate with sales for market and business development activities.
• Watch competitor products, installation trends, and customer applications.
• Identify, develop and be part of US network of Customers, Suppliers, and Specialized organizations.
• Manage Technical Support for Licensees and customers, ensuring each are provided with appropriate support and commitment.
• Organization of yearly licensee committee meeting and managing the follow-up and execution of committee actions.
• Visit and develop direct relationships with internal licensees to share and capitalize product expertise.
• Manage licensee audit program, coordinate, and report to IP manager.
• Manage technical documentation update process and execution.
• Provide proactive product line support including coordination with EU technical support resources.
• Promote the introduction of products at North American customers by providing presentations and demonstrations.
• Organize technical symposiums at customers in coordination with sales teams.
• Support and follow-up with customers as they execute test plans and product evaluations.
• Develop data to support internet site update and product documentation.
• Ensure the required tooling is defined and available for demonstration and customer evaluation.
• Focal point for US customer or industry specification change review and comments.
• Manage internal documentation change process for North America (Change Review Board)
• Oversees the action plan for each area and is ultimately responsible for ensuring deadlines and commitment to internal and external customers are met.
• Travel may be required (national and international) to solve and analyze customer requirements and/or product issues.
• Provide timely communication to management and internal/external customers on developments, which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
• Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies and product applications.
• Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities None

Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Materials Engineering from and accredited four-year University or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years Design Engineering/ Project Management or Product Engineering in a high-volume environment
• Participation in professional organizations a plus
• Project management skills and experience required; focus on objectives completion in a timely manner, working in multi-functional team, philosophy based on results and documented analysis and decisions, simple and comprehensive reporting to management.
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering applications, technical reading and writing;
• Knowledge of Aircraft Fastener manufacturing processes and principles.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Working knowledge of statistics and advance levels of calculus/differential equations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of CAD, CAE, Data Acquisition Systems, Measurement Systems, Design Systems, Document Control systems. Intermediate level or above in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
