Position Overview: As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, and increasing efficiency across the production floor. This position requires a proactive, hands-on approach to process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement engineering solutions that align with lean manufacturing principles and optimize production output.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
Develop, implement, and maintain process documentation, including standard work instructions, process flow charts, and other technical documentation.
Evaluate and optimize existing manufacturing processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Collaborate with the design and product development teams to support new product introductions, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
Conduct root cause analysis for production issues, developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime and improve quality.
Lead projects to design, source, and install new equipment and tooling, ensuring proper training and process integration for production teams.
Drive adherence to health and safety standards across the production floor, implementing best practices to reduce risk and improve overall safety.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians in troubleshooting, technical skills, and continuous improvement methods.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a high-volume production environment.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and statistical process control.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems.
Demonstrated experience with process improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and a proactive mindset.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Familiarity with automation technologies and a track record of implementing automation solutions in manufacturing.
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 9001) and adherence to quality management systems.
