Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team in a manufacturing setting. The Buyer will be responsible for assisting in the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. This role involves working closely with suppliers, internal departments, and team members to support the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Assistance: Assist purchasing department members in support of the sales team.
Purchase Order Management: Generate and release purchase orders as required, ensuring alignment with production schedules and inventory requirements.
Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production teams to anticipate material needs, prevent stockouts, and minimize excess/aged inventory.
Quality Assurance: Work with quality control teams to ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications and communicate this to the vendor base.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules. Generate reports as required to track procurement metrics and performance.
Shipping and Receiving: Assist with the flow of inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials and shop supplies.
Requirements:
Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain.
Previous experience working with metal products.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with procurement software is a plus.
Ability to multitask effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
