About the Role - Corin is seeking an Investigation and Development Engineer to provide technical expertise on sustaining engineering-related activities and projects within the Technology R&D team. You will divide your time between complaints investigation activities and engineering projects. You will work as part of a global team and utilize a systematic approach to investigations and engineering activities. This role will be based at our Raynham office in the US - hybrid 2-3 days a week.
Responsibilities
Perform initial triage activities for customer issues in collaboration with the vigilance, customer service, and product managers for technology products
Perform and document investigations of technology product issues working cross-functionally to determine the root cause
Perform sustaining engineering activities to support released Technology products
Perform activities by internal standard operating procedures (eg, design and development, risk management)
Plan and Manage time and activities in relationship to objectives
Assist in update of DHF/DMR and associated documentation
Collaborate with Production, Sales, and Marketing teams
Maintain orthopedics knowledge - stay up to date in literature and new technologies
Perform design and development-related activities including:
Product Needs and Requirements generation
Product Design
Product testing, verification, and validation
Product Risk Assessments (ISO 14971)
Collaborate in clinical evaluation of products
Collaborate in the manufacturing process design, verification, and validation
Collaborate with external suppliers/contractors
Participate in periodic Design Reviews
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. biomedical, mechanical, electrical/electronic, computer science). Alternative qualifications may be accepted if supported by directly applicable employment experience within a medical device investigative environment. Exposure to highly regulated environments. Exposure to medical devices, robotics or orthopedics.
Required Skills
Ability yo develop good working relationships with cross-functional teams (production, sales reps)
Ability to propose and execute product development testing activities (verification and validation)
Ability to understand and troubleshoot clinical workflows using Technology products (robotics, software, 3d printed guides)
Exposure to Project Management, Risk Management, Clinical Evaluations
Exposure to Regulatory and Quality System Requirements
Exposure to technical investigations - reading data, log files, review of trending
Attention to detail and appropriate respect for operating in a highly regulated development environment
