Position Overview

We are seeking a Private Credit Analyst to join our team. This position plays a critical role in evaluating, underwriting, and monitoring investment opportunities within the lower middle market segment. The analyst will support senior investment professionals in analyzing potential investments, conducting due diligence, building financial models, and preparing investment memoranda. Key Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis & Underwriting:
  • Conduct thorough financial and credit analysis of potential investments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models, including pro forma scenarios, cash flow forecasts, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Evaluate business models, industry trends, competitive landscapes, and financial performance to assess potential risk and return.

Due Diligence:
  • Participate in due diligence processes, including site visits, management interviews, and third-party consultant coordination.
  • Review legal and financial documents to assess covenant structures, debt capacity, and capital structure.
  • Identify potential risks and propose appropriate risk mitigations.

Market Research & Industry Analysis:
  • Stay informed on trends in private credit, lower middle market segments, and relevant industries.
  • Conduct in-depth industry research to support investment decision-making.
  • Track performance of portfolio companies and monitor industry developments that could impact the portfolio.

Portfolio Management:
  • Monitor the performance of existing investments, analyzing financial reports, compliance with covenants, and any potential red flags.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to present quarterly performance reviews to investment committees and investors.
  • Support the team in managing relationships with portfolio companies to proactively address potential issues.

Reporting & Presentation:
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda and presentation materials for the investment committee.
  • Assist in creating portfolio reports, investor updates, and other internal documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA or progress toward CFA designation is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, credit analysis, or a related financial role.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including the ability to build and interpret complex models.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis, credit metrics, and valuation techniques.
  • Familiarity with covenant structures and debt financing mechanisms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis to senior leadership.

Salary range: 100k - 120k plus bonus
