The Manufacturing Manager will oversee all aspects of production execution. This position will optimize production efficiency, ensure product quality, and maintain a safe work environment. The Manufacturing Manager will leverage contemporary lean manufacturing/continuous improvement processes to consistently realize the delivery of sustainable high-performance outcomes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage staffing levels, and coordinate recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff in the department, plus cross-training and further skills development for current staff.
Mentor team members and provide constructive and timely performance evaluations of direct reports; foster a positive work environment and encourage team autonomy and collaboration.
Assist team leaders with constructive and timely performance evaluations for their direct reports.
Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Motivate, support, and set clear expectations for staff in the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a culture of safety and enforce safe work practices; ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Implement and maintain quality standards and specifications and quality control procedures.
Plan, organize, and oversee daily production to meet targets and deadlines.
Partner with supply chain resources for optimized production schedules for improved flow of information, materials, and people.
Oversee maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collect and analyze production data and performance metrics to make data-driven decisions.
Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste and cost without compromising safety, quality or delivery.
Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist department leadership in developing and executing to the organization's budget expectations, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
Monitor and control production costs to meet financial targets.
Assist product development team with building prototypes and fitting them into the production schedule.
Interact with engineering department and continuous improvement team to resolve technical issues in manufacturing.
Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting the manufacturing division.
Assist department and company leadership on special assignments and projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field/ equivalent work experience (Required)
Minimum of five (5) years of manager-level or equivalent leadership in a manufacturing environment (required).
