Infusion RN - Lead, Full Time
This position requires a registered nurse in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Candidate must be detail oriented and possess verbal and written skills that facilitate effective communication with physicians, patients, team members and other individuals within and beyond the scope of this specialty.
FTE: Full time, 1.0 FTE
Location: Primary locations Blaine and Bloomington with rotation to Lake Elmo/Woodbury
Hours: 4 day work week 10-hour shifts, with occasional day of the week rotation, 6:30a-4:30p or 7a-5p, no weekends
Other requirements include:
Minimum three years direct patient care in a medical/surgical clinical settingSkills necessary for PIV placement and administration of infusion therapies preferredMinimum two-years experience in infusion therapy administration highly recommendedKnowledge of technologies associated with infusion therapies highly recommendedKnowledge of infusion medication pharmacology, indications and contraindications highly recommendedLeadership experience highly recommendedObtain Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurses (MSCN) certification within 3 years of employmentExcellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitudeAbility to multi-task
Duties include:
Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapyAdminister Immunoglobulin, Depacon, Solu-Medrol, Tysabri, Ocrevus, Tepezzaand other infusion therapiesAdminister pre-intra-post procedure medicationsAssess and monitor patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventionsCommunicate patient status to medical personnel as neededElectronic Medical chart documentation in a specialized infusion software system.Provide open line of communication with Infusion Team, including Infusion Supervisor, Infusion Director, Medical Director, physicians, and other clinic staffCoordinate effective handling of emergencies arising from infusion and IV contrastAbility to work in a team environment, as well as independently in our infusion sitesMonitor and update department staffing schedules in coordination with patient schedules/volumesFacilitate department medication and medical supply ordering for all infusion locationsInitiate and complete training of new department staff members, delegate when appropriateCoordinate scheduling of infusion equipment maintenancePrimary point of contact for department staff
