The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Comprehensive Oral Health houses several disciplines including, Periodontology, Dental Hygiene, Comprehensive Dentistry, Operative Dentistry/BioMaterials, Prosthodontics, and Endodontics. The Endodontics discipline is committed to advancing oral health through therapies focused on preserving the natural dentition.
The Patient Relations Representative provides patient relations support and patient financial system support rotating between all Graduate Clinics: Operative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontology, and Endodontics. Tasks include patient admission coordination, patient appointment scheduling, patient record management, creation and management of provider schedules for graduate residents in the EPIC, and maintenance of patient accounting functions for the Graduate Clinics. This position functions as the primary point of contact for the daily patient account functions, cashiering, addressing and resolution of insurance inquiries, reconciliation of patient account balances, and perform the end of day reconciliation for depositing the clinic's accounts receivables. This position is also responsible for any clerical work designated by the Graduate Program Directors or direct supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
The Patient Relations Representative requires a high level of attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills is a must. The selected candidate will have excellent organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks. Must be proficient in cashiering duties. Must possess the ability to maintain and develop positive working relationships.
Experience in office support, or an equivalent combination of post high school education and experience. Prior work experience in a dental/medical office setting. Spanish language proficiency is desirable.
