Position Summary:

The postdoctoral research scholar will study the genetic basis of type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and/or other common human cardiometabolic and molecular traits with complex inheritance patterns. Projects will aim to identify the molecular and biological mechanisms by which human DNA variants lead to disease. The scholar will perform and report research, contribute to laboratory activities, actively participate in collaborative projects, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

PhD in Genetics


Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Applicants should have expertise in molecular genetics, genomics, cell biology, metabolism, or a related discipline. Successful applicants will have a strong track record of research productivity and excellent communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Experience with mammalian cell culture, genome editing, and/or high-throughput screens is preferred.
