THIS IS A CONTRACT ROLE FULLY ONSITE IN NASHVILLE, TN (37208).
Position Summary:
Coordinates and manages office activities and workflow processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the department. Performs administrative support duties and makes work-related decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position may oversee the work activities of lower-level support personnel.
Essential Functions:
Acts as liaison with other departments, faculty, staff, students, and external organizations.
Administers and coordinates department activities, office services, and the work activities of lower-level support personnel. Assists in the development and implementation of office procedures and work schedules. Plans, schedules, and facilitates meetings.
Composes, formats, and types correspondence using PC applications. Responds to inquiries regarding department policies, procedures, and functions.
Monitors, compiles, and interprets department budgetary and financial items.
Assists with administrative tasks and the operation of programs, activities, and functions.
Assists with special projects.
Ensures that office systems (copiers, computers, phones, etc.) are in good working order and organized, and that supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of institutional policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
Demonstrated proficiency in various PC-based applications, including Word and Excel.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize duties with minimal supervision.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong composition and editing abilities.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from a college or university, with a minimum of four (4) years of related experience, is required. Alternatively, a minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience will be accepted if no degree.
