We are on the hunt for a dedicated Facility Manager to become a part of our team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this role, you will be managing all aspects of the Wilmington terminal and related activity to ensure food safety, employee safety, regulatory compliance, product handling, scheduling, planning, port relations, budgeting, optimal asset utilization, and cost containment, formulating and conducting organization policies, objectives, and programs for a major function of the organization.. This position offers a regular full-time employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
Manage terminal operations in Port of Wilmington
Oversee/control all incoming products in terms of volume and quality
Responsible for the implementation and management of systems to plan and execute all blending, formulations and shipments
Maintain and track all inventory
Oversee vessel operations and shipping and receiving products for international and domestic use.
Company representative with the port authorities on facilities matters; participate in the development, planning, and negotiating activities for any new or additional port facilities for the company
Develop, test, and document systems
Respond to changes in customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
Manage, develop, and maintain safety systems that meet or exceed OSHA guidelines
Manage relationships and reporting systems regulatory partners
Coordinate the development and optimization of systems
Interview, select, recommend, hire, train and supervise assigned staff.
Responsible for planning the facility budget/CAPEX and capital projects.
Control the monthly Budget and Capex expenses
Collect, analysis, and report production and processing related information to aid in the assessment of operating costs and efficiencies or to meet regulatory reporting requirements
Participate in the development and implementation of the Company Food Safety and Food Defense Program
Performance on SAP / Inventory controls / TMS programs are fundamental for this role
Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and quality
Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules
Participate in any variety of meetings and task force groups
Requirements
Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, Masters preferred
A minimum of five years of experience in a food processing plant or in a similar role
Proficiency in using SAP
A thorough understanding of pasteurization/sterilization process, aseptic storage with improved microbiological controls
Knowledge of compliance requirements in relation to food safety, citrus experience preferred
Experience in managing employee relations and resolving workplace conflicts
Experience with automation programs and controls
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Proven problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach to work
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
