Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

The Technical Services Associate will play a key role in coordinating technical efforts across various renewable energy projects, ensuring seamless collaboration among land and title teams, development teams, vendors, and contractors. This position demands a blend of technical knowledge, project management expertise, and familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, and energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will facilitate the smooth implementation of technical plans, manage RFPs, and oversee contract management, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and on budget.

Project Coordination:

  • Assist project developers in planning, coordinating, and tracking the progress of renewable energy initiatives.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation for all projects.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals align with technical specifications.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance to field teams to ensure effective implementation of renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, and battery storage.
  • Work with land and title as well as development teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.
  • Offer civil design services for preliminary designs of roadways, slope easements, drainage systems, and stormwater management plans.

Vendor & Contractor Liaison:

  • Draft RFP documentation, oversee the RFP and selection process, and manage change orders as needed.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of components and services.
  • Review technical specifications to confirm they meet project requirements.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Provide contract management support for developers regarding all vendors and third-party consultants, ensuring document compliance, processing change orders, and facilitating contract closeouts.
  • Prepare and manage civil technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Assist in creating progress reports for stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
  • Help compile project close-out documents, including as-built drawings, test results, and warranty information.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to renewable energy installations.
  • Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role within the renewable energy sector, preferably in project coordination or management.
  • Familiarity with wind projects.
  • Experience collaborating with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheets).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS software, or other technical tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards.
