We are actively looking for an experienced Water-Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Estimator in the Detroit, MI area for a Heavy Civil Contractor. Alternative Delivery Experience with an emphasis in CMAR a must. Our client offers a Strong Bonus Program of up to 30% of salary.

This position requires 20+ years of estimating experience with firms that self-perform the majority of the items to construct plants, a minimum of 10 years in a supervisory role. This includes excavation, yard piping, concrete structures and inside mechanical/process piping.
This is a high-profile position with excellent growth opportunity. This position will require the individual to work collaboratively with our senior management developing construction cost estimates for the lump sum General Contract and Design/Build delivery of water and waste-water infrastructure. The projects we pursue include the renovation and new construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, storage reservoirs / retention basins, water transmission facilities and waste-water conveyance systems.
Local experience preferred and knowledge of the various equipment suppliers and manufacturers.

Chief Estimator Responsibilities:
• You will manage a team of 6 or more Estimator's and associated support staff.
• You will be responsible for the complete estimate, managing subordinates, subcontractor and material quotes and the entire bidding process.
• The Chief Estimator position's accountability includes, but is not limited to:
• Full take-off of quantities and scope(s) of work.
• Develop and/or review actual self performed scopes of work estimates and productions
• RFQ and RFP development and presentation of a CMAR, DB, CM/CG project.
• Prepare an estimated project schedule
• Complete estimate oversight
• Project risk analysis.
• Pre-Construction of awarded projects.
Chief Estimator Qualifications:
• 20+ years' experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Civil Construction, 10 in a supervisory role.
• BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in estimating projects of all sizes from bid solicitation through the estimate to a potential award.
• Experience in managing an estimating team with experience in complete WWTP estimates including excavation, yard piping, structural concrete and inside mechanical/process piping.
• Extensive pre-construction experience.
• Experience with CPM scheduling in Primavera P6
• Knowledge of HCSS or Bid2Win software
