Position Summary
AirJoule is seeking an Applications Technologist to join the Applications Engineering team, which focuses on optimization of device performance and understanding its performance landscape. AirJoule® technology dehumidifies air with record-breaking energy efficiency, and then converts it into pure water. The role of the Engineering Technologist is essential for success of the technology, because it connects basic R&D to real-world performance. This role will involve running the assembled prototypes, controlling the different subcomponent technologies within AirJoule®, and collecting performance data over a wide range of conditions. This assignment will be located at AirJoule's headquarters in Newark, DE.

Act as an operator of AirJoule® prototypes (running the device, maintenance, QC, performance optimization)
Operate and maintain controlled humidity/temperature chambers
Troubleshoot and resolve prototype problems (mechanical, electrical, etc...)
Document, communicate, interpret, and share test results using computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ELN software, etc...)
Write standard operating procedure (SOP) documents and train employees
Maintain good housekeeping and keep appropriate inventory of consumables
Uphold a safe, respectful, collaborative, inclusive, and appreciative team environment
Education and Experience Requirements
3+ years lab or industrial experience.
Not required but valued: an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with running multicomponent 'rigs', chemical reactors, electronics or hobby electronics, automotives, technical prototypes, or similar devices and technologies
Passionate about hands-on mechanical skills and 'wrench turning'
Familiarity with laboratory or shop operations and equipment
Excellent organization skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work under pressure and be flexible towards direction changes
Strong desire to be part of the AirJoule team and enable the company vision
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, fans, motors, and HVAC systems
Work with excellent safety practices
