Job Description:

My client is a prominent and highly established Heavy Civil GC with a strong track record in delivering high-profile, large-scale civil and site development projects. Recognized for its award-winning construction team and strong employee tenure, they are seeking for a Senior Estimator to work alongside Executive leaders executing a strategic growth plan.

My client specialises in Highway, Bridge, Marine, Utilities, Concrete, Structures, Heavy Civil and more!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director of Estimating to develop and implement strategies for entering new markets.
  • Secure new projects to grow the company's backlog, focusing on larger and more complex opportunities.
  • Analyse specifications, drawings, and site conditions to determine scope of work.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and manage bid preparation processes.
  • Communicate DBE requirements and oversee good faith effort documentation.
  • Organize and lead the estimating team to prepare bids and evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals.
  • Assess project risks, labour force needs, and overall feasibility for bidding.
  • Review and finalize bid packages for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Address scope changes, RFIs, and subcontractor quotes to ensure complete estimates.
  • Monitor costs, update estimating tools, and maintain project documentation.
  • Collaborate with owners, contractors, and internal teams for feasibility and cost data.
  • Lead training, continuous improvement initiatives, and alternative delivery pursuits.
  • Support business development and foster owner relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience on heavy civil projects
  • Minimum 3 years of of field experience in a heavy civil environment.
  • Proficiency in technical tools: Blue Beam, Agtek, Sketch up, P6, SureTrak, Bid2Win Estimating and MS Project.
  • Can consistently lead estimates for bids up to $300M.
  • Competent in cost control systems, contract accounting, and time impact analysis.
  • Expertise in project staging, phasing, and scope comprehension.
