Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead and oversee complex engineering and manufacturing projects from concept to completion. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing budgets, timelines, and resources, and ensuring projects align with quality standards and business objectives. The Project Manager will play a critical role in driving efficiency, mitigating risks, and fostering innovation while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, expertise in project management tools, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management Specific
Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure all phases align with business goals and deadlines.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations) and external partners (suppliers, clients) to align on project goals and expectations.
Budget Management: Support development and monitoring of project budgets (ROI, CAPEX, etc.), identify cost control measures, and ensure effective resource allocation without compromising quality.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure project stability.
Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure compliance with engineering and manufacturing standards.
Resources: Identify and coordinate human and material resources, including team assignments, equipment needs, and supplier coordination.
Project Execution and Control: Monitor progress, ensure timely milestone completion, and adjust plans as necessary.
Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, milestones, and changes.
Continuous Improvement and Lessons Learned: Post-project, evaluate processes, identify improvement opportunities, and apply lessons learned to future projects.
Additional Duties
Collaborate with new product development stakeholders to establish project goals and timelines.
Develop in-depth knowledge of company brands, models, and manufacturing methodologies to tailor project plans.
Identify and implement opportunities for product and process improvement in collaboration with operations.
Support design and operations reviews for new products.
Assist with plug buy-off processes alongside Product Designers and Naval Architects.
Liaise with Operations' Mold Maintenance and Lamination teams to approve new production molds from suppliers.
Track tooling deliveries and ensure accuracy of tracking tools.
Coordinate with Operations to schedule and build prototype boats and production launches.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or technical field preferred. Alternatively, 4+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or boat building, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PMP / PMI Certification preferred.
Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project).
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
Experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
