The Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring efficient workflows, adherence to safety protocols, and the maintenance and repair of Sinoboom's heavy equipment and machinery. This role involves managing shop staff, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring quality standards for all service and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management:
Supervise, train, and mentor shop technicians and staff.
Assign tasks based on priority and skill levels to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:
Oversee the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of Sinoboom equipment, ensuring all machinery meets operational standards.
Manage preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all shop activities comply with OSHA and company safety policies.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to mitigate risks.
Enforce the proper use of tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe working practices.
Inventory and Supplies Management:
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for parts, tools, and supplies.
Coordinate with procurement to order necessary components and equipment.
Track usage and ensure efficient inventory control practices.
Operational Efficiency:
Develop and implement shop processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor job progress, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of work orders.
Collaborate with other departments to align shop operations with company goals.
Customer Support (if applicable):
Assist in addressing customer inquiries related to equipment repairs or maintenance.
Provide updates on equipment service timelines as needed.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare regular reports on shop performance, including productivity, costs, and equipment status.
Document all shop activities and ensure records are up-to-date and compliant with company standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or a degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or repair, preferably in the heavy machinery industry.
3+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery and equipment.
Familiarity with shop management systems and inventory control software.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Physical Requirements:
