A key Optimus client is seeking a motivated SeniorRisk Analyst to join a leading energy company that operates one of the largest and cleanest power generation fleets in the United States. The Role
This role supports the execution of strategies to enhance risk management capabilities, leveraging data analysis, reporting, and compliance measures. Collaborating with senior staff, you'll help create tools and models to monitor and report on portfolio risk, provide insights into market activity, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to risk policies and improve infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and validate risk models to identify and quantify key risks in market, asset, and trading strategies.
Independently validate market valuations for portfolios and new transactions.
Monitor portfolio risk and deliver regular commentary on market events and activity.
Collaborate with trading, origination, accounting, and IT teams to provide data-driven insights and improve system infrastructure.
Support compliance, audit processes, and ensure effective controls for trading and business practices.
Key Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a quantitative field (0-2 years of experience preferred). A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience in market risk at a commodity trading business.
Knowledge of the wholesale power industry would be a plus.
Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Visual Basic, R) and strong analytical skills.
A self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
