Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Estimator to join the team. In this role, you will play a critical part in accurately estimating the costs of diverse construction projects, including industrial, retail, medical, and office developments. You will utilize your expertise in construction methods, materials, and cost estimating software to produce detailed estimates and bids, collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution from the initial proposal through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects based on architectural drawings, project specifications, and on-site evaluations.
  • Material and Labor Costs: Analyze blueprints and project specifications to calculate costs for materials, labor, and equipment, ensuring all aspects of the project are considered.
  • Bid Preparation: Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, and compile comprehensive and competitive bid proposals that reflect the full scope of the project.
  • Cost Analysis & Value Engineering: Perform thorough cost analysis and explore value engineering options to optimize project costs while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities during the estimating process, offering mitigation strategies to reduce project risks and enhance opportunities for success.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of all estimates, bids, budgets, and change orders, ensuring up-to-date and accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements and expectations, ensuring alignment on cost expectations and scope.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry with expertise in industrial, retail, medical, and office construction projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex project documents, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately estimate costs.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team, contributing to the success of each project.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are highly desirable.
  • Sustainable Practices: Familiarity with LEED certification processes and sustainable construction practices.
  • Design-Build Experience: Experience with design-build, negotiated bid projects, or other alternative delivery methods.
