Job Responsibilities: As the Compensation Manager at Connor Group, you will:
Design and Implement Compensation Programs: Co-develop and help implement innovative and effective compensation programs for billable and non-billable professionals. This includes salary structures, incentive plans, and other benefits to attract and retain top talent.
Collaborate on Strategic Compensation Alignment: Work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly the finance and HR departments, to ensure that compensation strategies align with business objectives, market trends, and the overall organizational growth plan.
Lead Merit, Bonus, and Variable Compensation Cycles: Oversee and manage the annual merit, bonus, and variable compensation cycles, ensuring fair and competitive compensation practices. Provide guidance on performance-based rewards and recognition programs to motivate and engage employees.
Develop Financial Models for Compensation Planning: Create and maintain complex financial models to budget and forecast compensation costs, analyze compensation scenarios, and support strategic decision-making.
Conduct Compensation Analytics: Perform detailed compensation analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of current compensation programs, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to ensure competitiveness and alignment with business goals.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage the compensation budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and constraints. Provide accurate forecasting and reporting on compensation expenses.
Data-Driven Insights: Utilize advanced data analytics tools to provide actionable insights on compensation trends, pay equity, and market competitiveness. Present findings to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
Compensation Benchmarking: Lead the benchmarking process to compare the organization's compensation practices against industry standards. Use data to recommend adjustments to salary structures and incentive plans.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all compensation practices comply with relevant laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues.
Maintain Internal Job Architecture: Manage the internal job architecture, defining clear career paths and pay ranges. Regularly assess and update job classifications, ensuring consistency and fairness in compensation across different roles and levels.
Provide Insights to Senior Leadership: Collaborate with the Chief People Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and other firm leaders, providing insights and recommendations on compensation trends, cost implications, and potential adjustments to ensure the organization remains competitive in the market.
Design and Implement Reward and Recognition Programs: Lead the development, design, and execution of comprehensive firm-wide reward and recognition initiatives. Innovate and implement practices that strengthen Connor Group's outstanding employer brand, with a focus on retaining and engaging top-tier professional staff within the industry. Foster a culture of appreciation and acknowledgment, ensuring that Connor Group's professionals feel valued and recognized for their contributions to the firm's success.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial modeling and data analysis.
Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills, with the ability to create clear and compelling presentations for varying audiences (Compensation Committee, Business Unit Leaders, Executive stakeholders, etc.)
Strong analytical skills with experience in financial analysis and complex modeling.
Proven expertise in compensation management, preferably in a professional services environment.
Preferred:
Workday and Tableau experience highly preferred
Some familiarity with India, as our operations span across the United States and will include employees in India.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, business administration, or a related field.
Advanced degree (MBA or HR-related) or professional certifications (e.g., CCP, GRP) would be advantageous.
Working Conditions:
The position is based in Lehi, Utah, with a hybrid work schedule, requiring regular office attendance. May be open to remote candidates that meet qualifications.
