Join our dynamic team as a Branch Manager at our full-service banking branch in Santa Monica. This pivotal role is key to the administration and effective daily management of branch operations, client service excellence, product sales, and maintaining strict adherence to security and safety protocols in line with the Bank's goals. This is an in-office position that champions compliance with all Bank policies and adheres to state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Management Activities:
Hire and nurture skilled staff to ensure optimal customer service and meet staffing requirements.
Engage in regular developmental discussions with your team to align with their career aspirations.
Take charge of sales and service training to ensure the highest service standards.
Drive core deposit growth with effective in-branch sales initiatives.
Utilize tools like the Vital View Dashboard to keep tabs on branch performance and encourage team awareness through consistent communication.
Serve as the primary conduit for implementing policy changes from Senior Management, ensuring the team is always up-to-date.
Handle performance-related issues decisively, adhering to Poppy Bank's policies.
Conduct annual performance and compensation assessments for your team.
Command a thorough understanding of and compliance with security and safety policies.
Operational Activities:
Set clear profitability objectives for your branch and manage expenses against the budget.
Guarantee branch performance aligns with bank audit standards and compliance requirements.
Take a proactive approach to operational quality and initiate improvements as needed.
Oversee daily branch operations, including transaction approvals and report reviews.
Customer Service/Retention Activities:
Foster a culture of exceptional customer service by setting the example and providing continuous training.
Address customer issues effectively, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and retention.
Engage in proactive problem-solving for complex account transactions.
Sales Leadership:
Forge and execute effective sales and community engagement strategies that align with branch goals.
Innovate with sales techniques to capture new accounts and grow the deposit base.
Mentor your team to deepen customer relationships through financial insights and product knowledge.
Collaborate in joint sales and marketing initiatives and cross-selling opportunities.
Community Relations Activities:
Embrace and endorse the Bank's CRA policies through active community engagement.
Commit to at least 10 hours of CRA volunteer work annually, with compensated time and reimbursed mileage.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise a team of at least 2 branch employees, providing guidance and developmental opportunities.
Oversee employee performance management, including mid-year and annual evaluations.
Assure the effective scheduling and accuracy of staff timekeeping.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated prowess in sales with evidence of branch growth.
A minimum of 7 years' experience in a branch environment and 5 years in branch management.
At least 3 years of managing complex business and consumer accounts.
Robust interpersonal skills and the capacity to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Proven leadership in team development and customer service.
Competency in recruitment, training, coaching, and staff performance management.
Active engagement in local community business organizations.
Notary Public is preferred but not required.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other banking platforms.
Flexibility with work hours to meet branch needs, including occasional extended hours.
Possession of a current California driver's license, reliable transportation, and adequate vehicle insurance.
