What You Will Contribute:
Badger Meter is hiring a Model Maker Intern at our Milwaukee facility this summer. We are looking for someone pursuing a CNC Associate's degree program.

The Model Maker Intern will be dedicated in creating R&D concepts and prototypes while working with the Engineering and Design Teams. This position will include fabricating special fixtures, equipment or assembly set-ups. The Model Maker will work with internal and external customers through simple sketches to CAD models. This position requires someone who is self-motivated; works well with others, flexible and has attention to detail.
Job Duties:
Create models of concepts, new products, prototype parts, and fixtures with a team of Engineers, Designers, and Manufacturing.
Operate CNC machines, lathes, mills, power tools, grinders, drill presses, band saws, and a variety of precision instruments.
Read engineering drawings and sketches in order to make components/fixtures while providing quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy.
Assemble mechanical and electrical components.
Use CAD/CAM to create and modify 3-D models.
Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing a Trade/Vocational Degree in CNC/Tool and Die or a related field required
No prior work experience needed; Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
Qualifications:
Familiarity with CNC preferred
Basic experience with mills, lathes, drill machines, and saws preferred
Basic experience in programming CAD/CAM software
Basic ability to read and understand Engineering drawings required
Basic to use calipers, micrometers, surface plates, and general inspection practices required
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
