PDS Optical is currently looking for a skilled and proactive Production Manager to complete our Frame and Lens Department. If you are ready to make a significant impact, lead by example, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

The Frame and Lens Department Manager is responsible for supervision and leadership for all employees within the Frame and Lens Department and within the Optical Lab, for all shifts.

This is a full-time position with normal days being Monday through Friday. The schedule may vary slightly but employee must be available during "core" hours of the shift. Hours will be discussed during the interview. Extra hours may be needed on a voluntary or mandatory basis.

You must have at least 5 years' experience in the Optical field and have demonstrated sound management skills. You must have good computer skills and a working knowledge of standard computer equipment.

Salary will be based on relevant experience and will be discussed during the interview.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for ensuring proper, efficient, and consistent workflow throughout the department and editing through proper education and or follow-up and training
• Responsible for ensuring day-to-day department operation objectives as well as meeting goals in production and spoilage areas
• Assign, monitor, and maintain employee tasks and production, and report production daily on spreadsheet as well as to appropriate supervisors and managers
• Implement and manage all work processes
• Must have leadership qualities to directly manage employees within your department
• Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws as well as setting a standard of conduct through examples and actions
• Must be able to ensure smooth workflow, monitor progress, and resolve routine problems for all department employees
• You will be responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; auditing performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, scheduling or approving paid time off as needed
• Monitor department employees' working hours, time off, and provide final approval for bi-weekly payroll

Work Environment

This position is located in the Frame and Lens Department and operates mostly in an office setting adjacent to an Optical laboratory. The temperature can vary, and the noise level such as phones ringing may be slightly distracting. This position also requires directly managing and working in close proximity to a diverse group of employees.
