The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia, genome-wide association study data processing and analysis, and whole genome/exome sequencing. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include working with a team of computational and experimental researchers at Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center to manage, process, and analyze genome-wide association study and whole genome/exome sequence datasets for Alzheimer's disease and other related dementia. The position will participate in major AD/ADRD genetics programs at PNGC including Alzheimer's Disease Genetics Consortium (ADGC), NIA Genetics of Alzheimer's Disease Data Storage Site (NIAGADS), Genome Center for Alzheimer's Disease (GCAD), and/or Asian Cohort for Alzheimer's Disease (ACAD) by contributing to genetics data management, quality control, imputation, analysis, and meta-analysis. Other responsibilities include participating in collaborative and independent research programs related to human genetics genomics with focus on Alzheimer's disease and related dementia, developing best practices and implementing workflows, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, and participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
Ph.D. in genetics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or other related quantitative research fields
