Schurz Communications is looking to hire a People and Culture Manager.  The successful candidate will lead and champion our organization's efforts through exceptional employee relations, strategic talent acquisition, and impactful development initiatives. they will serve as a proactive, forward-thinking business partner, driving opportunities for growth, innovation, and cultural integration while addressing people and business challenges with strategic solutions. It will be their responsibility to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations while consistently delivering high-quality support to employees across the organization. They will also act as a cultural steward, embedding our values into every aspect of the employee experience. This role involves up to 25% travel.

Location: Remote

Rate:  $65,000-$85,000 annually plus bonus

Reporting to:  VP of People & Culture

Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Participate as a member of the leadership teams for the supported organizations.

  • Provide comprehensive HR support to your assigned organizations in the following areas: talent management, succession planning, project coordination, change management, employee engagement, recruitment, and overall workforce strategy.

  • Interact regularly with the supported organizations’ management team, providing leadership and guidance on people issues, and HR policy matters.

  • Recommend and implement actions designed to build and develop leadership, coordinate succession planning, improve team effectiveness, nurture employee engagement while acting as a change agent.

  • Contribute to the definition of business strategy from a people perspective, aligning HR strategy and plans with business objectives.

  • Reinforce the HR service delivery model with coaching support to leaders, managers, and employees.

  • Conduct employee and talent data analysis; use data and analysis to provide insight for decision making.

  • Provide HR project management services as needed and provide employee advocacy and voice for the business in HR matters.

  • Review business and HR performance measures and advise management on the human capital impacts of business decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate strategies and policies, as well as federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Support businesses onsite and remotely through technology

  • Assist with recruiting efforts at assigned organizations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful People & Culture Manager has:


  • At least 4 years’ experience in an HR role with a broad range of responsibilities across multiple HR functions.

  • Associate’s degree in human resources management, Organizational/ Business Management, or related studies.

  • Proven expertise in all aspects of the human resources body of knowledge.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven commitment to communicate openly and regularly.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to exercise independent judgment and take action.

  • Keen business acumen with the ability to align people & culture activities to the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Excellent influencing, coaching, and consultation skills.

  • Excellent PC skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft office products.

  • Proven critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Proven knowledge and application of methodology, techniques, and tools.

  • Proven ability to navigate and build relationships across multiple business units/subsidiaries.
