Manufacturing Engineer - SMT




Location: Mosel, WI



Opportunity



The SMT Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing programs and equipment for SMT circuit board assembly equipment.
• Program and equipment development will include but not limited to Pick and Place, Screen Printing, Reflow Profiling, AOI, SPI
• Job duties will also include machine operation, setup, maintenance, training, and helping operators on machine operation and setup, and ensuring proper program performance and efficiency
• Create, update, and manage documentation (i.e., work instructions, routings, and other department procedures)
• Works with production quality, engineering technicians, and machine operators to maintain equipment and to ensure efficient operation of work centers to meet production schedules
• Troubleshooting program/process/machine issues and fault corrections
• Schedule equipment maintenance in conjunction with production schedule
• Help in the equipment maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized in the manufacturing operation and perform out of cycle maintenance as required
• Call machine support hotline to resolve any blocking issue and order required spare parts
• Logs machine maintenance, spare parts inventory, etc
• Interprets assembly drawings
• Report equipment status and improvements to management team
• Assist design and advance development engineering in running prototype boards on SMT equipment
• Supports design for manufacturability
• Develop capital justification for replacement equipment or new technology to improve the manufacturing of circuit boards
• Create, update, and manage documentation (i.e., work instructions, routings, and other department procedures)
• Lead improvements for SMT equipment in process yield, quality, cycle time, inventory access, and delivery
• Lead a team of SMT Machine Operators and Process Technicians
• Process and record data to improve programming and increase efficiency

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing process
• Strong analysis and attention to detail
• Computer skills, MS Office, mechanical/electrical experience
• Efficient in Time Management, Problem Solving, Organized & Self-Motivated
• Working knowledge of BOM, ECN/ECO, Component Packages/Shapes and IPC standards
• Must have a working knowledge of CAD software, Pick and Place software, and databases
• Must be familiar with or certified in IPC/EIA J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in the electronic manufacturing is a plus
