Job Description:

The Senior Data Science Engineer is responsible for designing AI/ML solutions to identify insights, predictions and recommendations using the DISH Wireless Commercial data providing value to the DISH business team and build analytics product offerings in the marketplace for Commercial customers. These monetizable products should have necessary guardrails aligning with security, privacy, compliance and regulations. This individual will play an active role in delivery and ensure alignment to the end-state architecture. Responsibilities will vary, but ultimately include:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership on Data Science
  • Partner with product, engineering and analytics teams to drive the use of Data Science across business
  • Develop an exceptional Data Science team
  • Work with business teams, define ROI & business value for data science products
  • Communicate AI/ML findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders
  • Build technical, product vision and long term plan for the data science team
  • Brainstorm ideas and execute proof-of-concepts and prototypes
  • Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions
  • Assist in solving technical problems when they arise
  • Identify, evaluate and assess risks to mitigate them and eliminate issues that may hinder successful delivery of solutions
  • Monitor systems to ensure they meet the partner, user and business goals
  • Execute and deliver solutions, features using agile delivery methodologies
Skills, Experience and Requirements
  • 5+ years as Data Analytics Lead with 3+ years as an Senior Data Science Engineer in the wireless and/or telecom space esp., in Sales, Marketing, Retention, Product, Revenue and Partner Management etc
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with development and delivery of secure, reliable and scalable data science solutions using agile methodologies
  • Proven track record of delivering projects from start to end
  • Strong understanding of data science algorithms including classification, forecasting and deep neural networks
  • Experience in cloud technologies (like AWS) and data analytics platforms
  • Experience in working with Big Data structured and unstructured
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate insights, predictions and prescriptions from the models to business and executive stakeholders
  • Advanced degree with emphasis on analytics, machine learning or statistics
  • Experience designing fully automated, configuration driven, extensible solutions
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment across different geographies and vendors
  • Experience engaging in programs with multiple stakeholder organizations
  • Ensure compliance on all deliverables by performing data audits and analysis
  • Excellent planning, coordination and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to strategize, adapt and deep dive into new technologies
  • Strong desire to learn new things and continually improve
