PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of the MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Safety First: Ensure safety is a top priority across the maintenance department and promote a safety-first culture.
Team Spirit: Foster a team atmosphere within the maintenance department and provide leadership and mentoring to maintenance shift supervisors and the front-line maintenance team.
Hands-On Leadership: Assist the maintenance team in troubleshooting problems, implementing solutions, and working hands-on to resolve issues.
Continuous Improvement: Create and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Plans. Ensure execution and make adjustments based on collected data.
Performance Management: Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, managing performance to budget, including spare parts, purchases, and all area costs.
Budget Assistance: Assist in preparing and managing the annual maintenance capital and expenditure budgets.
Vendor Management: Manage vendor and contractor proposals and expenditures.
Training and Development: Oversee training, staffing, and development of maintenance department personnel.
Goal Setting: Develop and review performance goals and targets quarterly, and provide annual appraisals for maintenance employees.
Special Projects: Participate in special projects related to maintenance.
Tech Savvy: Implement and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
REQUIREMENTS FOR the MAINTENANCE MANAGER
5 years of supervision and/or management experience with a coaching/mentoring style of management.
Experience in maintenance within an injection molding environment or a heavy industrial manufacturing setting, including experience with pumps, motors, drives, controls, chillers, pneumatics, and vacuum convey equipment for materials, with a total of 10 years of maintenance experience.
Must be hands-on and willing to help maintenance team members troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Experience with Preventive/Predictive Maintenance programs such as MP2 is a bonus.
