The Opportunity
The Distillation Technician is responsible for overseeing multiple distillation processes while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations. This role involves monitoring process parameters, conducting tests, and maintaining product quality. The technician will also participate in plant safety programs, maintain production logs, and collaborate with lab analysis to drive continuous improvement.
Key Job Responsibilities
Oversee the operation of multiple distillation processes and equipment functions.
Participate in plant safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Uphold Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance by ensuring all operations adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies, while fostering a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Monitor and control process parameters to meet product specifications, analyzing system controls, log sheets, and lab reports.
Perform tests at various production stages, including Gas Chromatography, moisture, non-volatile residue, and color analysis on both pre-feed and finished products.
Optimize equipment operation to maximize efficiency, yields, and minimize waste.
Collect product samples at various stages for lab analysis.
Maintain production logs and reports, documenting production levels, maintenance needs, and related information.
Contribute to plant safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualificaitons
Bachelor's degree in a science field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Two years of experience in a similar environment or industry desired.
Successful completion of Hazwoper training.
Strong computer skills and ability to interpret operational documents and SOPs.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
