Purpose/Introduction
The Finance Department aims to be a trusted partner that adds value by protecting the company's financial integrity, guiding sound business decisions and offering enriching careers in a collaborative workplace. Finance oversees financial planning and fiscal management for Chevron Phillips Chemical including accounting, financing activities, planning, and tax compliance. The department provides financial information, policy analyses and recommendations that drive sound decision-making.Chevron Phillips Chemical is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Controls and Reporting Analyst to join our team at our Headquarters location in The Woodlands, Texas. The selected candidate will report to the Accounts Payable Manager as part of the Corporate Accounting Team.
Responsibilities
Manage AP-related reports and dashboards
Perform monthly closing processes, including journal entries
Handle unclaimed property reporting and compliance
Monitor SAP for approval limits based on invoice expenditure authority
Conduct SOX compliance testing and reporting for assigned processes
Report and analyze Corporate Card usage; assist with quarterly reviews
Ensure SOX compliance for AP internal controls, including flowchart documentation
Reconcile and review general ledger payable accounts
Responsibilities (continued)
Prepare audit documentation for annual financial audits
Collaborate with SAP IT Support for system issues, FIT testing, and upgrades
Undertake special projects as directed by the AP Manager
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (or higher), in Accounting or related field and a minimum 3 years of relevant experience; in lieu of degree, an associates degree / High School Diploma / GED and aminimum of 5 years of relevant work experience will be considered
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and controls
Ability to meet deadlines and work accurately with minimal supervision
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems
Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team and mentor others
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP, Power BI Dashboards, Alteryx, or Blackline
Experience with SharePoint workflows
Experience in training others
Knowledge of US GAAP application
