Prestigious Family Office, headquartered in Dallas, TX, seeks a highly skilled Special Project Manager to oversee our California Real Estate Portfolio. This multifaceted role combines asset management, development management, and project management responsibilities. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is crucial to our real estate growth strategy and diversified operations.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
Manage diverse CA portfolio (~$25M value): development properties, rentals, and Napa Valley homes
Oversee property development, renovations, and maintenance
Implement rental strategies and manage tenant relations
Conduct financial management, including budgeting and performance analysis
Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management
Development Management
Lead execution of 9-home subdivision and 100+unit multi-family projects (~$100M value)
Navigate entitlement processes and manage contractors to budget
Oversee project budgets, timelines, and quality standards
Project Management
Manage contracts, purchasing, and financial planning for all portfolio activities
Implement risk management strategies and technology solutions
Collaborate with Family Office departments and external stakeholders
Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Engineering, Business, Architecture or related field
5+ years experience in real estate development, project and asset management
Strong understanding of CA real estate markets, laws, codes and regulations
Excellent financial acumen, leadership, and communication skills
Strategic thinking and ability to handle confidential information
Experience in purchasing, contract management, recruiting, and leading teams
Background in Planning, Business, Architecture, Contracting and/or Construction desirable
Reporting Requirements
Weekly: Email summary of key activities and issues
Monthly: Comprehensive written report and video conference with CEO
Quarterly: Presentation to Family Office leadership team
Annually: Business plan for projects and portfolio
As needed: Ad hoc reports, incident reports, and audit support
Ongoing: Stakeholder communications and performance metrics dashboard
