The Data Analyst, working as part of the Business Information Systems team, will support the data and analytics initiatives of Springfield Public Schools with a strategic focus on efficient and effective district operations, provisioning datasets for district leaders, and data governance through enterprise integration of district data assets.
Duties:
1. Work with the Business Information Systems team to provide actionable data to stakeholders supporting and monitoring efficient and effective district operations.
2. Meet with stakeholders to understand data needs and define reporting requirements.
3. Fulfill internal and external data requests in a timely manner.
4. Develop new and enhance existing reports and dashboards in Power BI to meet the identified needs of stakeholders in alignment with district priorities.
5. Support efforts to modernize and automate data processes.
6. Integrate data across district systems to promote data quality and governance.
7. Collaborate to define, develop, and deploy curated datasets.
8. In collaboration with stakeholders, test and validate data deliverables.
9. Develop and maintain documentation.
10. Support a culture of data governance and data literacy.
11. Any other duties assigned by Business Information Systems Manager, CIO, or Superintendent of Schools.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, or related study.
2. Experience performing data analysis in a business/financial environment preferred.
3. Proficiency with Excel or comparable data analytic software.
4. Experience using modern data and analytics platforms preferred (ex., Power BI or Tableau).
5. Experience with database management systems.
6. Proficiency with SQL is preferred.
7. Experience with one or more programming languages is preferred (Python, JavaScript, R).
8. Understanding of data integration patterns using API interfaces is preferred.
9. Experience developing data pipelines is preferred.
10. Experience with Power Automate or other low code technology is preferred.
11. Familiarity with both on-prem and cloud-native application architectures is preferred.
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
13. Demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively.
14. Adept at effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-demand environment.
