Local food processing company is adding a Senior Cost Accountant to their accounting team. Great company culture, team environment and compensation. This position requires someone who is experienced in analyzing manufacturing costs as it relates to product design, raw materials and manufacturing methods.
Working with Senior Accounting Manager to establish standard costs of manufactured goods.
Analysis of cost standards and reporting on variances to actual costs
Establish cost models to determine costs of labor, administration, sales, etc. by material.
Recommends changes to reduce costs and maximize profit.
Preparing monthly reports to measure shrink of raw materials and packaging.
Review of work orders for accuracy and adjusting costs as necessary in ERP system.
Research of material costs to ensure the accuracy of information in ERP system.
Periodic audit of manufacturing processes to ensure accuracy of allocated costs.
Work closely with CFO to provide material costs for budget preparation.
Managing bill of materials for all manufactured goods to ensure accurate costing in ERP.
Foster teamwork and embrace accountability.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications requirements:
Minimum of 5 years solid cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Strong Cost systems background and strong analytical skills
Strong Excel and ERP skills
