The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports for clients, applying accounting principles and procedures, analyzing financial information, and responding to client questions and concerns.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field or substantial previous experience, required.?CPA certification is preferred, not required.
Knowledge of accounting principles and payroll.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.?Able to review the work of others.
Able to research, correct, and implement new or transitioning accounting clients.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting software.
Responsibilities:
Provides insights, guidance, and explanations to clients regarding financial statements and other financial transactions.
Prepares periodic balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements for clients from?various industries.?
Prepares payroll, payroll returns, and payroll tax deposits.?
Record fixed assets, schedule depreciation, book accruals and other closing entries.?
Sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the books.?
Investigates unusual or unknown transactions.?
Collaborates with tax team to verify accurate financial statements are ready to use for tax return preparation.?
Train, coach, and mentor less-experienced staff.?
Recommends updates to enhance the accounting and tax processes.?
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.?
Performs other related duties as assigned.?
Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures.
Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling.
