The ideal candidate will be heavily involved in preparing tax returns for individuals and various types of business entities, tax planning during the year, and tax research on proposed tax positions and transactions. The position will allow career growth at the individual's pace as they develop their technical skills.
Qualifications:
7+ years relevant tax preparation experience; ideally with small to mid-size public accounting industry experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
PTIN is required.
Enrolled Agent, CPA certification preferred, not required
Experience with UltraTax software required.
Strong proficiency in tax laws - individual, corporate, partnerships, and trusts.
Strong problem solving and research skills, and the ability to quickly use online resources to find answers.
Motivated, self-starter.
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare federal, state, and local tax returns and extensions - individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns.
Review tax information supplied by clients and request open items, as needed.
Perform tax research.
Serve as a mentor or coach to employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures.
Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling.
