Job Description: IT System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT System Engineer with expertise in managing end user technologies. Our IT System Engineers will be the first dedicated employee to support the overall business IT initiatives, our employees' devices, and resolve any emerging problems that our internal employees might face. The best IT System Engineers are genuinely excited to help employees and great at problem solving. We want someone who is confident at securing our IT footprint while also efficiently maintaining the fleet of devices we run. Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the existing software and hardware for our over 70 Mac and 100 Windows users are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Define a hardware procurement system for new user onboarding and rotation of old hardware.
  • Support our cloud based identity management and network security solutions.
  • Research and implement an end user ticketing system for internal support issues.
  • Continually improve the security posture of our devices by monitoring our EDR and MDM solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, document and resolve any software, hardware and network problems in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Research technological trends and products to inform and plan for future upgrades and test new software and hardware.
  • Develop and deliver user training on new software updates to improve productivity.
  • Help develop a multi-year needs justification plan and department budget.
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and ensure security postures are maintained.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Computer End User Tech, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong acumen in problem solving, coordination and teamwork, leadership skills, self-starter with a strong technical zeal.
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace knowledge
  • Microsoft Intune and Jamf experience
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with IT Teams
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Full Time onsite in the Beloit, WI Office, some travel to downtown Chicago

Bonus:
  • Experience with Twingate
  • Experience with network level support in a Fortigate/Ubiquiti environment.
  • Lenovo and Mac hardware knowledge.
  • Experience with user authentication and credential management across an organization.
