SUMMARY

The Sr. Replenishment Buyer is responsible for developing and maintaining a supply base that supports the manufacturing procurement needs. Responsible for maintaining specific inventory and having controls in place to provide accurate procurement information and inventory of goods, providing the correct amount of raw and packaging goods to the manufacturing team. The Sr. Replenishment Buyer performs all duties listed and is a backup to the Supply Chain Manager and Production Planner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for all raw materials purchasing and replenishment.
  • Identifies and assesses suppliers to strengthen supply base.
  • Ensures that sourcing decisions provide the necessary balance between purchase cost, capacity flexibility and supplier performance.
  • Ensures rapid, appropriate response and resolution to all supplier issues.
  • Provides timely cost and supply information to support the decision-making process.
  • Mitigates obsolescence by actively participating in product phase-outs.
  • Acts as the first line of support for plant buying during times of difficulty via missed shipments, shortages of products, etc.
  • Supports the Quality Assurance and Operations departments by working with suppliers to ensure continuous quality improvements and quick product claims resolution.
  • Supports Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing Operations in developing raw material/packaging economic order quantities, safety stocks and reorder points.
  • Provides information on unit price, annual volumes, order costs, cost of cash, holding costs and considers all customer raw material/packaging contracts, for each producing facility.
  • Generates daily plan and maintains business planning suite
  • Manages Planning/ Replenishment KPIs and feedback on adverse results.
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY

This position is responsible for following company policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure the production, storage and distribution of safe, quality food. Responsible for informing management of any observation or finding that could impact the safety and quality of company products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

B.A. degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience of 5 years in similar role in the Food Service/Food Manufacturing industry.
  • Has the ability to function under highly stressful conditions and interact cordially with colleagues to accomplish common goals.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), Preventive Maintenance systems knowledge, ability to learn new applications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and effectively present information to peers, senior management, manufacturing employees, and customers. Fluent in English, Spanish a plus but not required. Ability to perform unit measures, conversion calculations and other mathematical calculations reasonably necessary to satisfactorily perform job duties.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May regularly work in an environment in which temperature ranges from sub-0° to 85°.
