Job Description:


Position title: Advisor II - Health Knowledge Management & Strategic Communications Specialist

Location: Remote, United States | (Remote)


Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to external Health / Nutrition thought leadership and knowledge exchange by driving the development and external publication of relevant as well as assisting with conference events and developing content for the externally facing website.
  • Support marketing initiatives alongside colleagues from the health / nutrition team, MarCom and the Institutional Donor Engagement and Advancement department, ensuring that capacity statements and other external publications present the breadth and depth of CRS’ programming.
  • Drive and facilitate internal Health / Nutrition knowledge exchange through the development, dissemination, maintenance and marketing of relevant communications assets (briefs, blogs, newsletters, slide decks, talking points, abstracts, info-graphics, etc.), events, webinars, and the Health, Malaria, SBC, Nutrition and HIV MyCRS Sites. Coordinate with key internal stakeholders to identify relevant content.
  • Provide oversight of and create a structure for health and nutrition knowledge management and communication platforms, such as MyCRS (intranet), Groups/Teams, Yammer, One Drive, other Office 365 applications. Support and guide health and nutrition staff on use of these technology platforms.
  • Maintain strong internal networks and stay up to date on communication or KML products from other units, key health / nutrition approaches, projects, innovations, and themes within the agency.
  • Contribute to other areas as assigned as a member of the health / nutrition team.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in public health, international development, international relations or communications.
  • Five years related experience
  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data to create clear and concise reports.
  • Experience with communications, knowledge management and communications within an organization, including technical writing.
  • Understanding of global health programs as demonstrated through at least 3 years of work experience, specific course study or other activities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as other components and products for information sharing and collaboration, including SharePoint, Yammer, etc.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, facilitation and training applying adult learning principles and practices.

Required Languages - Must be fluent in written and spoken English; French or Spanish fluency desirable.

Travel- This position will require occasional travel (15% or less), including to resource poor international locations.

Preferred Qualifications – (If applicable) When needed, list preferred qualifications. These can include skills, experience, degrees that are highly desirable, but not required.

  • Master’s degree in public health, international development, international relations or communications.
  • 2 years of international experience
  • Experience contributing to technical publications
  • Graphic design skills
  • Experience designing interactive media
  • Familiarity with key donors, particularly The Global Fund, USAID
  • Proficient use of business intelligence and visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau or others a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce-based information management platform highly desirable.

Supervisory Responsibilities: none, potentially will manage consultancies or relationships with vendors (e.g., translators)
